favorite things friday: spring break edition

Happy Friday!

We've been on Spring Break this week, so

I'm  not quite as happy about this Friday rolling around

as I usually am.

But ... Spring Break, or not ... I'll take a Friday any way I can get it!

As usual, I'm sharing this week's favorites with you today!

Number 1 on my list this week ...

the aforementioned Spring Break!

I called Bestie half-way through the week

& told her I've decided I want to live on a perpetual Spring Break!

Is that too much to ask?!?!?!

We have had all sorts of fun taking it easy this week.

& I could use to this laid back lifestyle.

Can we talk sunless tanners for a minute?!?!?

I have been slathering it on this week!

We all have a nightmare story about using sunless tanner

& being stuck with hideous orange streaks.

batches of slime for everybody she's ever known.

It's been such a nice, relaxing week!

Makes me look forward to Summer Break even more!!!!

Next on my little list happens to be

one of the most genius fundraising ideas I've ever encountered.

The Student Government Association at my son's high school is raising money

& their method needs a standing ovation!

Until they reach their goal, everyday in-between classes & during all lunch periods

they are playing "What Does the Fox Say" over & over on the intercom system!

When my son came home Monday & told me about it, I howled!!!!

It has to be the most annoying song that there has ever been

& I'm sure donations are pouring in

just to make it stop!!!

It has been a busy week ...

I celebrated another birthday &

have been trying to survive the time change!

Not to mention, NC has finally decided to

observe Winter. Which is really bad timing because

Big Brother's tennis season just started & 40* temperatures

are not very conducive to sitting outside watching

very long tennis matches!

But .. it's finally Friday & all is right with the world!

I just started a new book this week & I already love it.

Grace Not Perfection by Emily Ley

It is perfect for all of us mamas that hold ourselves to impossible standards.

You know ... pinterest-perfect parties, immaculate homes, perfectly dressed & mannered children.

The book is interactive ... with space to journal, answer questions, brainstorm ..

& has lots of great scripture references!

I can tell you, it has quickly become a

favorite this week!

Reese's Peanut Butter eggs!!!!

& guess what y'all .... TIS THE SEASON!!!!!

If loving them is wrong, I don't want to be right!

I love being able to check & respond to texts from it &

even answer a call using the watch.

It's really convenient when I'm busy around the house

or out walking in the neighborhood.

This week has been crazy busy for us &

so is this weekend.

We are slated to get snow Sunday & I have

absolutely no words. NONE!

Yesterday was 75* & our low for Sunday is predicted to be 24* ...

in case you haven't noticed, cold weather is not my favorite.

BUT ... here ARE a few of my favorites from my week ...

I told you guys in Tuesday's post all about how I save money at Target. One of those tips was using RedPerks. I just so happened to earn a perk this week!

I got this Threshold throw ... it sells for $24.99, but I got it for exactly $0!!! Yay for Redperks!

One of our favorite shows to watch is Little Big Shots with Steve Harvey. It airs on NBC on Sunday nights. They showcase all sorts of the cutest kids you've ever seen in your life. This past week, the show featured a little girl from the Philippines named Ehla who just about blew the roof off the studio!

One of my family's favorite book is The Jesus Storybook Bible ... it is the most precious version of the Bible I've ever read! It presents the Gospel in such a unique way & weaves Christ into every story, Old & New Testament.

Although we are a few days into Lent, I wanted to share The Jesus Storybook Bible Lent Reading Plan with you (just click on the link to find it). My in-laws gifted me a subscription to Chip & Joanna Gaines' magazine, Magnolia Journal! I have been a Chip & JoJo superfan since their show, Fixer Upper, debuted on HGTV a few years ago & was really excited when I heard they were working on a magazine.

You know how you buy a magazine, you get it home & it's only eh???? Well, every single page of Magnolia Journal is like, really GREAT! Seriously ... the layouts are gorgeous, the articles (some written by Chip & Joanna) are informative, & it's full of practical tips!

I mentioned last Friday that Priss had her first formal school dance over the weekend. Mister & I chaperoned & worked the concession stand. two things I learned at the dance: 1) Middle schoolers eat A LOT! & 2) Middle schoolers will spend every last cent their parents give them.

We had so much fun getting Priss ready for the dance Friday afternoon.

Her cousin came over to do her make-up ...

My niece is only 11-years-old, but is much more

qualified at make-up than I am!

 & here's Priss all dolled up & ready to go ...

Such a fun night!

The weather in NC this week has been INCREDIBLE!!!! 70* days all week ... makes me so ready for Spring! I've enjoyed spending lots of time out in the sun ... which leads me to my next favorite ...

OK ... this stuff is incredible! It's a tinted moisturizer & primer with sunscreen (I use 40 SPF ... it also comes in 25 SPF). It's not greasy or sunscreeny at all ... it goes on really light & is perfection! I've been using it for a couple of weeks & I L-O-V-E it!
