target, what?!?

Y'ALL!!!!

i was in target this week

& look what i stumbled upon...

do you know what this is?!?!?!

the school supplies are

coming out.

i mean, my 4th of july sparkler is still smoldering

& school supplies are emerging

in the aisles of target.

now, i know there are a lot

of parents that count down the days until school starts.

not me ... i love the lazy days ...

no rushing out the door,

no carpool,

no homework,

no dance class!!!

i dread the first day of school.

weellll, there was that one year when

big brother started 5th grade & priss started 1st grade...

my mister & i walked them each to their classrooms,

helped them unpack their school supplies,

& get settled into their new desks ...

then, i lie to you not, we held hands

& skipped down the 5th grade hall & all the way out to the car.

{that really happened & i'm sure all of the teachers thought we were obnoxious}

i just feel the week after july 4th is too early

for the target to remind us that summer is

slipping through our fingers.

i would be in total support

of some sort of ordinance that bans

the sale of school supplies before

august 1st.

& yes, i realize there are year round schools...

but as a family on a traditional school year calendar,

i'd just rather not be reminded of the impending fate

that awaits us at the end of august.

ugh!
