to shutter, or not to shutter ....

both houses we've

lived in have been new builds.

i love the entire process.

i love picking out

every little detail ...

right down to the door hinges!

on both houses we decided

to forgo shutters on the exterior.

{our current home}

weeellll.... lately i've been

rethinking them.

i love the look of board & batten shutters.

they have such a "cottage-y" feel.

after doing a little research,

i was a bit disappointed

to find out the vinyl shutters only

come in just a few colors.

&, of course, i wasn't sold

on any of them.

so, when we had priss's room

painted a couple of months ago,

our painter (who can do anything)

told me he'd work up an estimate for custom-built

board & batten shutters .... painted whatever color we wanted.

so, when the estimate came i held my breath...

opened up the envelope &....

y'all!

the custom-builds would cost 

less than HALF

what the vinyl shutters would!!!!

SOLD!!!!!

so, i jumped on the phone

& told him to get to measuring

& a-cutting'!

we'll be adding a little

shutter love to the 2 windows on the porch,

the upstairs window with the window box 

{which, by the way, is still looking lovely...

& the window over the garage.

so...

over the next few weeks

i'll be sharing our

shutter experience

with ya!!!!

from color selection to installation.

i know... exciting & world changing stuff!!!

 but ... this is what makes my world spin!!!!
