football, volleyball & an occasional kick line ...

i've mentioned before that
big brother is playing on
the middle school football team this year.
my "please do not kill my first born" nerves
were settled after the first game
& i have really enjoyed watching him play!
i love football & i am sure
you'll find this extremely hard to believe,
{with my bubbly personality & all}
but i was a cheerleader for 10 years,
so i've spent a lot of time watching football ... & i get into it!
priss has decided to play volleyball ...
{crickets ....}

now, i am not trying to stir any type of
volleyball enthusiast uprising or revolt,
but volleyball just doesn't jam my toast.
when i was in middle school
we had intramurals twice a week
& the homeroom classes would play
each other in volleyball.
know what i did????
i'd wear my church shoes to school on those days
so i couldn't play.
our PE teachers didn't want us to
scuff up their newly refinished gym floor,
so no hard soled shoes were allowed.
{sorry ms. long & ms. wells ...
the ugly truth has been revealed}
it was a brilliant plan & thinking back,
i'm a bit proud that my 11-year-old self devised it.
anyway, priss's volleyball games
begin next week & i'm going to have
to learn how the game works &
all the volleyball terminology ...
which, had i participated in middle school,
maybe i wouldn't be in this predicament of
not knowing what the heck is going on.
{lesson learned, my former PE teachers ....}
{& yes, they do read my blog!}
however, i've been to all of her practices
& honestly all i've seen is a lot
of twirling & kick line practicing.
her team is named the "vollettes" so priss thought
the team needed to learn a kick line routine
just like the rockettes.
which, to be honest, made total sense to me!
don't worry ...
i'll keep you posted on any volleyball related occurences
& i'll also keep you informed on any kick line excitement!
