carpool mama ...

big brother's football season ended last week.

so, now i get to participate

in not 1, not 2, but 3 carpool lines ...

the elementary school, the middle school, & the high school.  

& believe me, each carpool has its

own unique set of challenges.

if you can get out of

the high school parking lot 

within an inch of your life

you have really accomplished something.

because honestly, nothing says

safety first like 500 newly licensed drivers

all sharing the same parking lot!

challenges aside,

i do love it when all of the kids

pile into the car with that "afterschool smell."

 you know, the combination 

of gym lockers & cafeteria pizza.

{if i could only bottle it

& sell at as some sort of pest spray ...

i'd be a millionaire}

i get to hear all about

who's "going with" who,

who was super lame that day,

which teacher is the absolute worst ...

you learn a lot listening to

those backseat conversations.

while right now i feel like

i spend 1/2 of my day in a carpool line,

i'm very aware that this is season of life is short ...

too short.

& i'm going to miss those afternoon rides.

wonder if it'll be ok if

i wait for them outside of their

college classes in my car???
